The House of USA is one of the original 15 cottages in Balboa Park's Houses of Public Relations. Established during the California Pacific International Exposition in 1935, it stands as a hub for culture, education, and goodwill. Come explore American history, music, and traditions in our exciting environment!
The House of USA represents the American culture encompassing MANY of the world's amazing ethnicities. We honor a variety of traditions and welcome the community to join. The cottage, open on weekends, aims to promote multicultural goodwill, educate visitors about the USA’s history, and celebrate special occasions. Opportunities are available for those interested in learning more about American culture.
Learn MoreHouse of USA participates in this event as a host as volunteers and resources are available. The luncheon is normally held on the second Wednesday of each month from noon to 2pm. Entrance charge is $10 per person and all HPR/House members and their guests are invited to attend.

Veterans Day (originally known as Armistice Day) is a federal United States holiday observed annually on November 11. We honor military veterans, who are people who have served in the United States Armed Forces. It coincides with other holidays including Armistice Day and Remembrance Day which are celebrated in other countries.
Our Independence Day lawn program takes place on Sunday near the Fourth of July. Along with American traditional music/dance and/or entertainment of all American genres on the HPR International Cottages Stage, the House of USA will feature delectable American cuisine chosen from one or more of the U.S. 50 states.
Flag Day commemorates the adoption of the flag of the United States on June 14, 1777, by resolution of the Second Continental Congress. The United States House of Representatives observes Flag Day on either Saturday or Sunday close to June 14th. This program is brought to the community in partnership with the San Diego Chapter of the Sons of American Revolution.
Memorial Day (originally known as Decoration Day) is a federal holiday in the United States to honor and mourn the U.S. military personnel who have died in the course of carrying out their duties. It was observed from May 30 from 1868, to 1970, and since the last Monday of May.
